Examples: Gap Strip/Squeeze

Purpose: This page links to pages that show several examples of ways that you can use the "Gapstreeze" tool. For each example, you can click "Run" and see what the result looks like.

• Strip gaps. Remove all columns from an alignment that contain one gap or more.
• Squeeze gaps. Remove only those columns that are entirely gaps.
• Intermediate value of gap tolerance example. Remove only those columns that contain more than a certain threshold of gaps.
• Remove selected ambiguity codes. Remove columns that contain non-ATGC characters.
• Preserve removed columns. Removed columns are shown in the output with # characters. These columns can be deleted on the results page.
